On September 9th 2009, President Barack Obama gave a Speech on Education to be showed in schools. President Obama's goal was to say even with the most supportive teachers, and the most supportive parents, you will not succeed unless you take on that responsibility.  I believe that his goal was reached only to those students who were able to view the video,  Every student in school is struggling in order to be a success in life.  I don't believe it was a monumental moment.  Every president has a given a speech on education.  The only difference between Barack and them, is that he is the first African American president. The speech didn't really make a difference to me, because Barack spoke on the same subject that i hear in school all the time.  The speech may have brought some students to the realization that they will be on their own one day, and its not the teachers, or their parents responsibility to make them successful, but their own.
