This cartoon is the funniest to me.  Its like the little boy or the man is saying to Santa Clause, that he has Bush of the naughty list and that Gore is on the nice list.  The ballots were not all the way punched through, and it is clear that the voters voted for Gore.  It just made me laugh when i looked at it.

The students of Richard Byrd Academy did a good job on their project citizen project.  They really presented their issues in a way where you could see that they need a new school.  The set up of their website makes it easy for you to see the reasons why they feel they need a new school.

My perfect candidate would be a woman.  She would be of African American desent.  This woman would be a mix of conservative and liberal views, because I would want her to have the same views as me.  I would want a candidate who had overcome some obstacles in their lives.  Someone possibly from the streets, who had grown up to understand christian values, and the human race as a whole.  She would not put all her trust in her cabinet, or any other influence around her.  My candidate would be single.  I believe in family values, but I also believe in the independent woman, able to stand on her own, and be strong by herself.  I would want my candidate not only to be single but to be a mother.  Mothers have skills that the male species does not have.  She would be seen as a figure to model in later years.  This woman would not be afraid to step into the male dominated industry and take her stand.  Her name would be Tasha Mack. :)

People should understand that they are in college and that you both have to deal with privacy issues.  Having sex in a dorm room all depends on who the two roommates are.  I would respect my roommates privacy if they wanted to use the room, because i would want them to do the same thing to me.  A roommate that is not willing to let their roommate use the room for at least an hour is very selfish.  The University establishing rules about it, is completely wrong.  The roommates should come to some sort of agreement on their own, even if they have to go somewhere else to have sex.  Personally if I did not have anywhere else to go, I would go to my dorm room, but everyone should have a place to go, especially if they know their roommate will go ballistic about the whole situation.  I think the school is going to have a tough time making this rule stick, simply because the students will argue that it is their room, they're paying for it, and they can do what they want in it regarding sexual activities.

People have argued that the death penalty is wrong, and that it wastes thousands of tax dollars a year.  The state of Texas is a firm believer in the death penalty.  I believe that if you are going to sentence someone to life in prison, then you should just execute them.  It is a waste of money to hold a criminal in there for life rather then just to execute them, so that you can put other criminals in their places.  You must think about how you would feel if your son or daughter was raped, or killed, and the criminal gets a life sentence.  If it was me I would want that person to die, and I think that the criminal would rather die then to die in prison confined.  I agree with the fact that the death penalty is a waste of money, but aren't we wasting money by holding a criminal in prison until they die?  There is no right and wrong when it comes to the death penalty, because everyone will have their opinion about it.  Executing someone to prove that murder is wrong is rather ironic, but depending on the severity of the crime, the punishment should fit it.  Maybe the rapist should get raped, maybe the theif should get their property stolen, maybe the arsenist should get burned to death. But if we did those things would they be moral and just or maybe even humane? If we just execute criminals, we wouldn't have to worry about them getting out and commiting the same crime again, and then we could move on and take care of the other criminals in the world. 

Former President Carter had a point in what he was saying.  He stated "a beliefe among many white people, that african americans are not qualified to lead this country". It feels that way because everytime President Obama wants to make a speech or say something that a white person doesn't approve, he gets persecuted.  People need to learn how to accept what is being given to them.  When President Bush declared war, I don't recall such an uproar about the situation.  I do not believe that Kanye Wests' outburst is questioning his first amendment right.  What he did was rude but it was not outside his rights as an american citizen.  He was simply expressing his opinion.  The media is doing nothing but making the situation worse between Kanye and Taylor Swift.  The only way that the media is portraying the story, is that Kanye ruined Taylor Swifts first MVA (music video award) acceptance speech.  All Kanye was doing was expressing his feelings and those of many other americans, that were all at home trying to figure out how Beyonce had gotten beaten by Taylor Swift.  Kanye was just bold enough to get on stage and say what was on his mind.
